Twitter/X card tags
The same idea as Open Graph, for X. Usually one extra line specifying the card style.
Why it matters
Without it, links posted on X may render as bare text with no image, which is far less likely to be clicked.
How to fix it, step by step
Quick fix — usually under ten minutes, no developer needed.
- 1Add twitter:card set to summary_large_image.
- 2Twitter falls back to your Open Graph title, description and image, so fix those first and this is nearly free.
- 3Your SEO plugin's Social tab has a dedicated section for it.
How to know it worked
Post the link in a draft on X, or use a card validator, and confirm a large image card appears.
