Social · can they shared?
Open Graph tags
Hidden tags controlling the title, description and image shown when your link is pasted into Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack or iMessage.
Why it matters
Without them the platform picks something at random — often your logo, a menu item, or nothing. A link with no preview image gets a fraction of the clicks of one with a proper card.
How to fix it, step by step
Quick fix — usually under ten minutes, no developer needed.
- 1Set an og:title, og:description and og:image for the page.
- 2The image should be 1200×630 pixels; smaller ones are cropped or ignored.
- 3In WordPress, the Social tab in Yoast or Rank Math sets these per page.
- 4Set a sensible site-wide default so a page you forget still previews properly.
How to know it worked
Paste the URL into Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector and confirm the card renders with your image.
