Why it matters
It is a useful single number for whether the page is broadly healthy, and it lists the specific opportunities in priority order.
How to fix it, step by step
Moderate — an hour or so, or a plugin setting plus a re-check.
- 1Run PageSpeed Insights and read the Opportunities list — it is already sorted by time saved.
- 2Start with images: they are usually the biggest win and the easiest.
- 3Then unused JavaScript, which usually means a plugin you no longer use.
- 4Enable caching and a CDN. On most hosts both are a toggle.
How to know it worked
The mobile score improves and the top opportunities disappear from the list.
